Looks like it's popsicles for dinner again

Good news! You can cut the celery since it adds nothing and is just filler

Wow what a loss
>>9363012
Leave my fucking hubby alone you piece of shit. Why don't you go back the the lunchables thread. You're a fucking joke, kid.
>>9362996
nah dog it's an aromatic
>>9362980
No idea what that is!
>>9362996
Celery has an obvious and important flavor!
>>9363012
Texture not relevant from what Ive cooked because it softens and exudes its flavor. Actually, I add to potato salad and its great! Kudos! Dunno what the fuck mirepoix is!
Bad thread so far!
>>9363019
It's 99% water
You burn calories chewing the shit.
Onion is a fucking aromatic

>>9362996

>>9363030
>You burn calories chewing the shit.
Retard.
>>9363047
>you burn calories watching tv on the couch
You can't seriously be this retarded. You're a fucking joke, kid.
>>9363047
What I mean to say is that you burn more calories chewing celery than you gain from digesting it.
You'll literally starve to death eating only celery
>>9363015
>not peeling out the strands first
>>9363015
It adds flavor, aroma, and CELLULOSE to help you poo better.
>>9363098

>>9362996
>celery doesn't have flavor
What form of memery is this?
>>9363030
Wouldn't that be true for any watery vegetable? None of them provide very many calories.
Celery tastes good though, and as long as you cut it thinly the fibers aren't even noticeable.
>>9363211
>Wouldn't that be true for any watery vegetable?
Which others would those be?
Carrots, potatoes, onions, all have lots of flavour
>>9363213
cukes
>>9363215
No one puts cucumbers in a soup or any other meal
>>9363211
Why do you people exist? You should have been erased from the evolutionary line so long ago. I guess its the reason that dairy cows are so docile and stupid. We've fucked up the concept of evolution so you can exist.
>>9363213
I mean all watery vegetables will basically make you starve to death if that's all you eat.
If your tastebuds aren't ruined from processed food and soda, celery has a fair bit of flavor and it even tastes saltier than other vegetables. Plus, if you don't just throw the celery leaves away they have a nice flavor too.
>>9363224
What are you even talking about? I can actually taste the flavor of celery so I should've been wiped out? Dairy cows are docile because it was originally a better deal for them to be taken care of by us than struggling to survive in the wild. We haven't fucked up the concept of evolution, that's like saying something is "unnatural". We're part of nature so everything we do is natural, and natural doesn't necessarily mean good.
>>9363266
>it even tastes saltier than other vegetable
Name one
Brocoli stem?
>>9363274
Sure. Broccoli, carrots, leafy greens, cucumbers, cabbage. Celery has a noticeably saltier taste to it, for me anyway.
>>9362980
Use a food processor.
>>9363282
Carrots, *some* leafy greens, and cabbage tastes a lot more than celery
We're arguing about the basic taste of celery. If you claim it tastes salty, then adding salt reduces celery to tasting like fibre.
Broccoli has flavour because it can retain the wholeness of water in a flavourful soup. Celery can't do that.
No one adds cucumber at all to soups.
>>9363298
What about cucumber soup?
>>9363306
Is that a thing?
Is it just "salty water"?
>>9363298
I never said celery was the most flavorful, but it does taste saltier than other vegetables. Not the same as just adding salt to other vegetables though. Celery just has a kind of slightly earthy, grassy flavor but still tastes "clean". It's fine if you don't like it, but if you're going to try to convince me it's bad and that I shouldn't like it, that's kind of silly.
Cucumber tastes good in cold summer soups.
>>9363311
I'm not trying to convince you it's bad
I'm saying, it's not worth the effort
>>9363326
That's fine, everyone has different tastes.
>>9363072

Mirepoix is an entry level anime. Holy trinity is superior.
>>9363030
Have you never cooked celery before? It's very aromatic.
>>9363084
>You'll literally starve to death eating only celery
That's why you don't eat only celery, retard.
>>9363084
youll starve to death eating just water
>>9363044
Clapistanis can't into savory. I think it's a pseudoreligious thing where something not from the cow/pig/chicken trinity having their favorite taste is faggot weeaboo hippie heresy and needs to be purged lest they succumb to the dark temptation.
>>9368518
Jesus dude take a break
>>9362980
Your proportions are all wrong.
1 part carrot, 1 part celery, 2 parts onion.
Also, is that cucumber above the onion? wtf?
>>9366416
Can you make meat sauce using Cajun trinity? What about vegetable soup?
>>9363326
>>9363357
While experimenting with étouffée recipes, I actually found that altering the portion of celery had an incredible effect of the overall flavor of the dish. Being able to distinguish itself, as a distinct taste, between onions and bell peppers would imply that it certainly adds a strong element to any food. Disregarding something as crucial as celery because "it's not worth the effort" probably means you have poor work ethic or a shit palette.
>>9369225
Sure, you can use it for both of those.
