probably cost about the same. Costs a little more to get them there, but prices in general are less inflated and taxes are lower

CA lobster tails were $8.99 each. NM Lobster tails were $5.00 each. TX Lobster tails are 7.99 each. Yeah, theres something else at play here.

Lobster isnt really a west-coast item, it all gets sent over from the east coast so the price is inflated the farther west you are and the farther off you are from major transport highways.

I can place an order for fresh lobster right now and have it by morning, whether it's pulled from the Atlantic or the Pacific or the Arctic. The blandest lobster I've had was from some shitty place in LA next to a t-shirt store that claimed their lobsters were the best in the country. The best lobster I've had was in Chicago, 1,000 miles from the nearest ocean. Urban coastals are the worst humans for many reasons.

about 7 per pound for whole lobster (including tail) on cape cod. I've seen it drop as low as 5/lb.
