Seeking consensus regarding elongated corn battered meat on a wooden skewer.
They're quite contrarian.

The best ones have batter that isn't very sweet and are served with spicy mustard for dipping.

Technically speaking, this is a sandwich.

I love corndogs. They are best paired with a strawberry milkshake and dippin mustard. I only buy if the man at the fryer is a greasy obese man
I find it important to get a crispier and lighter batter with a hint of spice. Also only use beef hot dogs, none of that cheap pork/chicken shit. I've actually put some panko on top of them after a light batter to up the crispy factor, but I only recommend if you are good at frying and able to control your oil temps well. Otherwise the coating will fall off and burn in the oil.

Not flat meat, not flat bread. Not a sandwich.

This.
It's damn hard to find corndogs that aren't branded
all over with "MADE WITH HONEY!" bullshit

When I lived in Japan, everyone called these American Dogs. They had oversized ones called Big American Dogs. Every time I ordered one, the store clerks would always chuckle, because I was a big american myself.
I have not eaten a Corn's Dog in years and years. Where do I get one?
