Hey /ck/, more specifically US anons.
Where do you guys go to get your cookware (pots, pans, knives, etc) and what brands/types should I look for/avoid?
The current set of pots and pans I got from my mom to use in college are pretty goddamn shitty and got ruined by the electric coil stoves there, and one of my cunt roommates lost the shears and bread knife from my block. I wanna upgrade to something a bit higher quality I can use well after graduation. If I can keep the budget under $300 I'd appreciate it.

Cuisinart all clad

go to a discount store like HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls and get nice tri-ply stainless cookware, you can even find all-clad depending on where you live. As for knives, tojiro makes a great cheap bread knife and shears don't matter.
Bed Bath & Beyond.
Or if I need cheap replacables (non-stick teflon shit) walmart; they only last a year or so anyway.
Buy it piece by piece
Buy a 10.5 inch cast iron skillet to start
Then restaurant supply store for knives and cookware for that budget.

Seconding a good restaurant supply store. You can get commercial quality stuff for less than the shit they sell in department stores.
