I want to cook things that taste good and are actually healthy (while maintaining my weight and without becoming obese in the process).
How do you do that? Do you count your calories and then try something new every once in a while?
I don't have much time to exercise but I'd like at least to use my free time to eat and cook well.

You estimate how many calories your body needs to maintain its weight, and you just plan accordingly. If you want to get super autistic about it you can get a scale and weigh and account for every ingredient you use, or you can eyeball it and just kind of guess. Then just check your weight week to week to see if there's any trend, if you're consistently gaining weight then just adjust what you eat. It's important to also pay attention to calories you drink and eat between meals because it's easy for people to forget about them.

This. That is literally it. Spend an hour figuring out what macronutrients and TDEE are, as well as the splits/intake of some foods you like. It will be eye opening.

You need to find 3 hours a WEEK. That is nothing you prolly spend 3 hours masturbating a week. Make the time, it isn't hard.

Then why do I feel no hunger while working my 8 hour shift and only eat a light dinner with no breakfast or lunch but when I have a day off and sit around doing nothing I am starving all the time?
