Why is the quality of vegetables in a typical American grocery store so terrible?
Half the shit are wilted and the rest are overgrown to detriment of texture and taste (way too thick and tough, taste bitter, etc.).

As an American I realized after traveling for a while that that a lot of our food is all about added sugar and salt so no one really cares about having flavorful fresh ingredients. We just butter and sugar until it's interesting
