Being a PRIVILEGED WHITE MALE and all, I am intrigued by the cheap shit people eat.

This dude pours 10 packets of ramen into a pot with some eggs and mushrooms, and people seem to fawn over it. WTF
And before that, some other guy pours what looks like spaghetti and butter onto a platter.
What are some cheap foods that make you scratch your head?
Presumably when you've been working your ass off for over a dozen hours without food, even basic shit like instant noodles and spaghetti would be appetizing.

Why dont you taste it yourself?
Why dont you go to a doctor and have your autism professionally diagnosed?
I spent some time homeless and once went into some kind of shock from malnutrition, and I'll never be confused by people finding anything particularly delicious anymore. I ended up eating shit where I don't know exactly what was in it, but I'm alive and in reality I think of it fondly.
Kinda like those prison dudes who still get a craving for food made out of commissary.
I'll make the most basic, cheap, awful shit still, just because it still tastes good, even though I could afford to go treat myself to an expensive steak dinner.

This. I used to hate grits, but then I went backpacking with my Boy Scout troop in the dead of winter. We hiked in 5 miles that night and set up camp in the dark. That morning it was 14F(-10C) and the only thing to eat in 20 miles was a packet of instant grits heated over a pocket rocket. Best fucking meal I ever had. I like grits now.

>scouts
that same thing happened to me except without the cold weather and with potted meat out of the can and very dry, very hard rice. Shit is delish.
i fucking love spaghetti and butter
but i'm a picky eater so what can i say
I've learned to love canned pasta. Taste better straight out the can.

They aren't fawning over the food itself, they are fawning over the gesture of their boss (who is quite famous and accomplished) taking time out of his day to make food for them, even though it's a simple and cheap meal. Also Japanese instant ramen isn't as bad as in America so even though it's not that special, it isn't as shitty as it seems. It would be like being a programmer at Microsoft and having Bill Gates pop in randomly to grill up some burgers for everyone.

Don't confuse poor food with lazy food. Some poor food requires effort and time.
