Hot dogs are a very tragic food even though they aree quite good, because any place that sells decent hot dogs almost always will also have something significantly better than hot dogs on the menu. There is very rarely any good reason to eat one other than for tradition.

>any place selling hot hot dogs has something better
This is a valid point. The only time I have actually ordered a hot dog was when I got stuck in Chicago because O'HARE IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE. Avoid if it all possible anons. The good news is that a Chicago dog is one hell of a hot dog and I would order it again.

I've flown through O'Hare a bunch of times and never had a problem.

I have a place that does hot dogs/sausages only up the street from me, and they're really good... but you're right. In most cases, everywhere has something better.
My old bar used to have a great Chicago Dog, Sonoran Dog, and a couple of other specialties, but it closed down. It was nice to have something as simple as a hot dog as a snack instead of having to have a full burger or entree. (As long as the price was right.)

Unless the menu is dedicated to hot dogs. Plenty of places like that exist in some parts of the country. They're usually the best places to go for a hot dog, because it's not an afterthought there.
I dont see hot dogs as something worth buying at the market. But i do get cravings 2 or 3 times a month and go to weinerschnitzel. It satisfies my craving and their chili is always good. But i mean...it is just poor cuts of meat with bread. Its very american i guess.

Couldn't be more wrong.
Most hot dog stands hit the spot. Especially when you're drunk. Though you're better off getting the Italian or Polish sausage if it is available.
