I want to try making a beef and broccoli stir fry today, ideally something to replace the chinese takeout I used to order. The problem is, I don't know what ingredients are vital for the sauce, and I want to start out with something simple and basic. I've never made anything like this before, so I don't know what ingredients are considered required, and which are optional/can be substituted. Most of the recipes I've found online list a bunch of ingredients that vary from recipe to recipe and don't make it clear which are vital. I already have soy sauce, brown sugar, and mirin on hand. Can someone please suggest a very simple baseline recipe for this? If I have to go out and grab additional ingredients, I'd prefer to get as few as necessary.

Blanch broccoli
Fry ginger and garlic in hot pan
Add beef
Season with a little soy sauce and oyster sauce
Add broccoli and a little chicken stock
Add a very little cornstarch and water slurry
Let thicken
Serve with white rice
Your pan should be hot enough that all the cooking goes down in about five min.
