I've had "white bread" from bakeries, but none were nowhere near as soft as the stuff you get at grocery stores.

Sure, any bakery worth of the name should have it. "Pullman loaf" is a common name.

>>nowhere near as soft
You say that like extreme softness is a good thing.

if you have to ask this question, then you should just go back to >>reddit. /ck/ is for people who already know something about food

Oh Jesus Drive-By Christ. What do you think artisan means OP?

I want really soft bread specifically for pb&j sandwiches
I'm good with hearty bread for sandwiches and stuff

Sounds awful for PB&J to me, don't you get enough of that soft texture from the PB?

But anyway, if you want extra-soft bread see if you can find a Chinese, or ideally Japanese bakery. They make some very soft, very sweet breads.

Otherwise there's always everyone's favorite flavorless mush: Wonderbread.

We used to have a Wonderbread factory here

I'd look up Japanese bread, that entire island is obsessed with soft, fluffy bread.

You could bake it yourself but they tend to blend their own flour ratios rather than rely on All-Purpose flour so it might be tricky finding the right flours.
