Ice cube trays + freezer
My freezer. To keep drinks cold.
I like silicone ice trays. Easier to get the cubes out than plastic. Also, lids are mandatory. No freezes smells that way.
The sphere ones are great for long term drink cooling. Otherwise normal cubes.

Easier, but still difficult? What brand?

I use trays from the dollar store. Sometimes they're cloudy.
The one that came with my fridge. I've had it 4 years, ice tray finally broke, ordered a new one via ebay and has been steady 6 months strong.
You need it to make most cocktails properly. That's about it.

Nah, it's easy as hell. The whole tray is floppy if it's not full of ice, you can push the whole cube cell inside out effortlessly

meat stench and such
unless closed ones exist and I'm missing out

The factory icemaker on my Frigidaire works pretty well, although when you switch from crush to cube or vice versa you'll have to run it for a second to avoid getting some crushed in your cube.
I need it because I chomp ice like a crackhead. And we throw down here. People need ice up in their drinks. A couple trays ain't gonna cut it round here.
