Trying to make a couple of pot pies tonight, but don't have any ramekins.
I have a bunch of these stupid Mikasa stoneware bowls, each of which is supposed to be microwave safe but "not recommended" for oven use.
What are the odds I fuck up these bowls/dinner by baking these suckers at 375 for 11 minutes?

I usually make a big pot pie in one of my cassarole dishes.

What IS the deal with airplane peanuts?

they are a light snack.

I say do it. Put a tray underneath so it they crack it doesn't make a huge mess. I assume the main reason they say not to use them in oven is only because of internal stresses, and not because the glazes will turn cancerous at high temps.
You might consider 325 for 30 minutes instead...

Just as good as the odds you will get cut by one of the millions of razor like pieces of stoneware that will wind up coating the bottom of your oven
11 minutes is nothing, they'll be fine

Potter here. Should be ok if you do not preheat the oven.

just run to cvs and buy a cheap muffin tray instead

I wouldn't do it. Did you know high heat can cause certain materials to contract and consequently react in a violent manner. Bet you didn't know that even if there is no visible sign, the material could have leaked particles in your food. It's not just an old wives tale, if it says not oven safe it's for a reason. Do with this information what you will.
