Anyone know of a decent banana nut bread recipe that uses baking powder, and not baking soda? I'm a retard and forgot to get it last time I was out, and I've only got baking powder, and not baking soda.

You'll get the right leavening using 2-3x the amount baking powder as you would baking soda, but it will be salty-sour. There's no way to solve this in a banana bread recipe because baking powder is literally just baking soda cut with extra salt and an acid reactant.

why do you want to make this? Are you trying to become obese?

1⁄2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 bananas, finely crushed (4 for a moister bread)
1 1⁄2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda (I use BP)
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

This is the recipe I always use and my roommates love it. I never remember to buy soda so I just use powder instead, and it makes no difference in taste or texture that I can notice.
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and nanners, then vanilla. Add all your dry ingredients and put into a greased and floured loaf pan. Sometimes I like to add a bit of cinnamon or chopped nuts.
The recipe calls for 55 minutes at 350 F but I've had to leave it in much longer than that before; all ovens vary so make sure to keep an eye on it! If you find the top is browning too quickly you can always cover it up with a bit of foil and then take it off 10-15 minutes before the loaf finishes.
Good luck!
