Halp /ck/, I'm making spaghetti and meatballs. What's the best way to prepare the actual meatballs?
Sautee them?
Bake them?
Sautee first and then simmer in the marinara?
Boil them
fry them

They get better browned if you lovingly saute them, turning often, but you have to work in batches, and can take a while if you have a large batch, which is why restaurants bake them. Sauteeing allows you to render any fat that might fatten up your sauce, esp if you put sausage or pork fat in your meat mixture. Simmering them adds flavor to your sauce, but isn't necessary. I do it though, but sometimes miss the texture of the crust.

Sear them in a pan and then simmer for 30-40 minutes in sauce.
Key with meatballs is day old bread soaked in some milk. Add some parmesan in there as well
stick em in a stew
