Or just, a convenient round figure like "A whole one of usual size" or "fuck it this looks about the right ratio"

in a pinch, a cup is roughly the same as a one hundred and forty ninth of a bushel.

What kind of nerd would actually measure that? Bell pepper is an ingredient you can just eyeball, unless your cooking high volume, in which case you wouldn't need to ask about this.

A bell pepper has a lot of air inside, lets call it effectively hollow.
"One cup" will contain different amounts by weight depending on how finely the pepper chopped.
Given these stipulations, the conversion you've given isn't helpful.
That said, "a cup of chopped bell pepper" is not prohibitively difficult in concept or application.
The other people in the thread that you've replied to are fucking idiots or insincere - you're wasting your time.
