So how bad is salt for you, really?

I keep my cholesterol, saturated fat, and trans fat low, I'm active (exercise almost every day), and I drink a lot of water. But my daily average intake of sodium is usually around 3000mg, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.

Am I gonna die, or is this okay? Supposedly anything over 2300mg a day is unhealthy.

It depends on the use, Epsom salt is really good for healing and circulation if you put it in a bath and soak in it. Ingesting salt is a mixed bag and there's probably a documentary on that so I wont get into it.

well Japanese people are supposed to be super healthy but apparently they get the most salt out of any country
>>
>>9153914
you won't die straight away
you'll just have a lot more issues in the future
>>
I suppose if you drink enough water to flush it, you'll be fine.

They also eat a shit ton of green leafy vegetables and things the common American would consider garbage.

Salt certainly affects blood pressure if you have hypertension (pretty well recorded.) The trick is to not get hypertension and the best way to do that is to eat lots of green things and have good genes.

if you where to get lost in a salt mine lke that your body would probably start a momification process well before your death
it would be slow and painful, you would likely get more and more desperate wich would led you to make mistakes and accelerate the process
not that it would matter anyways, you would just accelerate things
>>
it causes higher blood pressure, so it needs to be watched. if you sweat a lot you lose a lot of salt, so consider that as well.

but in general for eating i suggest eating your food with just enough salt, not tons.

bet you are fun at parties...
>>
I've been eating salt every day of my life for the past 30 years and I feel terrible.

Salt in many countries not contains fluorides that are a byproduct of phosphate fertilizer production, fluoride is considered toxic waste.

DO NOT EAT SALT, SO NOT EAT SALT< DO NOT EAT SALT< DO NOT EAT SALT.

Himalayan salt all the way

Half the amount of sodium chloride than sea and table salt and provides other minerals like iron, zinc, magnesium... all with the same salty taste.

Is this bait?
>>

Stop lying. 5 grams of salt a day doesn't raise blood pressure much more than three grams, and that means less salt doesn't :^)

Look guys, I found the thought police?

Not a bait, just facts. Look at the chemical composition of pink salt over other salts and you'll see it's superior. The only next best salt to himalayan salt is celtic salt, which has even less sodium chloride. The only real downside to celtic salt however is it's considered a 'moist' salt and clumps easy. Not really good as a garnishing salt but if you're just using it to season your dishes while cooking and it's the best of the best.

DRINK WATER
Literally just increase your water intake if you think you've ingested too much salt. An average person's kidneys could process 1L of urine an hour. Literally just drink water. Literally.
