I love pear butter but I can never find it anywhere. It's like it vanished from the face of the earth. Anyone have any recipes that are good?

What if I was to add some apples to my pear butter? Apple/pear butter seems like it would work.

Just add a cup of applejack to the mix, let it cook down.
I would also recommend some brown sugar.

A pear and an apple make for a perfect pairing.

1 lb. pears (Bosc & D'Anjou work well)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 cinnamon stick
pinch of salt
Put the water & sugar together over medium heat until boiling. Add peeled & chopped pears, salt & cinnamon stick and lower heat to a simmer.
Cook until golden brown and reduced.
Let cool, discard cinnamon stick and process until smooth. Jar & enjoy.
Y'ALL ARE GONNA MAKE ME CRY

Some foods have misleading names and either could be correct as far as I know.

It's like peanut butter, it's butter made from pears, not butter with pears in it
