Anyone else really like spicy food on a hot day? it doesn't make sense but it really works

Pajeets use ghost chilies to cool off when they're not too busy watching Gary Coleman on the news, it's not that weird.

I only eat spicy food. I smoke and drink a lot so my taste buds are dead I need me a little spice. Even for breakfast I cut up a fresh jalapeƱo from the backyard to put in the oil I cook my bacon/sausage/eggs with so everything is nice and spicy then I get another to bite off as I eat. Comfy

>it doesn't make sense
Yes it fucking does, you moron. Spicy food is from hot countries, not cold ones.

The spice makes you sweat, so you cool off faster.

that's just the mental gymnastics they pull to justify the real reason, and it's the fact that hot countries are also generally 3rd world countries and they need to heavily use spices to cover up the stench and flavor of spoilage in their foods

take a look at more developed countries with hot climates, you will notice they don't heavily use spices at all

This is such BS. Historically spices have cost much, much more than any meat. Maybe meat now costs more, but few 3rd world dishes were invented or made cultural staples since that shift.

where do people get this bullshit, /r/history/?

it's like the "alcohol in beer makes it safe to drink" meme
>>
I thought spicy foods coming from hot countries is, well, because that's where the plants that make those spices evolved?

I like spicy food every single day.
I eat spicy food 3 - 5 times a week usually.
On a hot day spicy food makes you sweat more and it cools you down.
