>go to "authentic" mexican restaurant
>every dish is beans and rice with some meat and shitty lettuce dumped on a plate
Nice cousine you got there.
>>
Actual mexican dishes are more like some strings of beef or chicken, one piece of tomato, on a very small tortilla soaked in oil and then a squeeze of lime juice.
>>
>>9093428
I don't get why they even bother with a "salad" -- its always just plain iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, no onions or dressing, and its always warm because they don't use a seperate plate.
>>

just looks like border taco shop stuff, not really authentic

That's pure bullshit. Most Mexican people live too far away from the coast to acquire fresh seafood. In Northern and Central Mexico, people eat way much more chicken, pork, or beef than shrimp or fish.

You measure a Mexican restaurant by the spic to gringo ratio.

I live in the 'burbs of a mid-sized Southern city. The only Spics we have are all illegals. When I go to the Mexican joint I like, I am the only gringo in the place; everyone else is some 5'2" Mexican covered in paint or mud. Most of the staff doesn't speak English. The food is fucking fantastic though. They treat me like a King b/c I'm a gringo that orders lengua and cachete. The first time, they said "are you sure you know what that is?". I replied "Hay buena carne en la cara".

There are currently 11 urban Taco Bells in operation, including locations in Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Austin.
The fast-food giant will bring around 300 of its city-style restaurants to urban areas throughout the U.S. by 2022, according to NASDAQ.
They sell, booze, tendies, and tapas (and presumably the rest of the normal menu).

That shit is just what Amerifags think Mexican food is like. Labeling your restaurant as "authentic" is a foolproof way of bringing in people who aren't familiar with the food (anyone who actually wants authentic dishes avoids those places).

>>9093431
This is bait.

>>9094827
>unless the definition of lime and lemon i was taught is wrong then i have no idea what you call a lemon and a lime.
Another mexifag here. This is what it is.

What's going on is that in the US lots of different citrus fruits are simply called "lemon", "lime", "orange", etc.. So, if you go to one store and buy lemons you might actually be buying a different fruit than if you go to another store and buy lemons. Very few varieties of citrus fruit are labeled by a variety name and typically only when they're very visibly different (either by size or color) or they taste very differently (i.e. hybrids that look like a sour fruit and taste sweet or vice versa) . It helps a lot that in the US there aren't as many citrus varieties as there are in Mexico.

So here is basically what these things mean.

>Lime - Green sour citrus fruit (many varieties).
>Key Lime - A citrus fruit very similar to lime but smaller (these are the ones in your picture). Sometimes just called "limes" by Americans.
>Lemons - Yellow sour citrus fruit (many varieties).

tl;dr: US system is dumbed down for consumers since these things don't play as big a part in their cuisine. Lime = Green sour citrus fruit.

Then just make it yourself!
It's the simplest shit in the world, just start with fresh fish and don't forget about it so it over marinates and you'd be hard pressed to fuck it up.

It's really common for people to have no actual medical understanding of how it works and blame whatever they ate last or made some excuse to doubt, "dirty beaner food must'a gibed me da fire belly!"

Nice. You check the green card of every hispanic you see? How diligent of you. Thanks for protecting us from a handfull of boogeymen who enjoy the same kind of food you do! Those sound like fucking scary and frightening people who are hellbent on destroying western civilization. Plus they are probably, *gasp*, Catholic.

Leave whatever shithole state you live in and visit California to get the best Mexican food you can find. Also remember that Yucatan food is completely different than the rest of Mexico, and get a good mix.

Then leave the shithole that is California, and fucking kill yourself, jesus you're so stupid.
