It's actually a sort of soy sauce and chicken stock gravy made with almond flour to thicken it. It's salty and not at all sweet. There is also a variant that doesn't use soy sauce and has white pepper in it, and is almost clear. That stuff is weird.

It's funny that most people who leave the Detroit area crave ABC hard since you can't get it anywhere but here, and I think a few places in NYC.
