Start by making simple things you already eat. Burgers, eggs, pasta, whatever isn't that complicated. Once you start learning the techniques and can make those things without over/undercooking, then you can try using more seasonings and sauces and move onto advanced things.

>scrambled eggs
>use iron pan oiled with olive oil
>egg shit gets stuck to the pan
>use non stick pan oiled with olive oil
>egg shit gets stuck to the pan
I want to cook eggs more but fuck me cleaning it up is more of a bitch then making them. How do I keep my pan from becoming a gross ass mess? More oil?

You either need a new non-stick pan or you aren't letting it heat up all the way before you put the egg in.

It's on an electric stove, so should I just rest the pan on it for like 3-4 minutes before cooking the eggs?

Rest the pan on your shitty heating elements until the smoke alarm goes off and then it's ready. Or just get gas like in first world countries and 3 mins will be plenty

always rest the metal in your non-stick pan by putting it on high-heat for at least 7 minutes straight, the flavor smoke that comes off is actually double-absorbed back into the pan and makes it truly non-stick. Close all the windows too, any slight breeze will ruin the seasoning process!

Yeah pretty much, as long as you aren't using too high of a setting. For over easy eggs I turn the knob to 4/10, for scrambled eggs 5.5/10. Flick a bit of water into it occasionally to test the temperature, if it starts bubbling slowly then it's hot enough for over easy eggs, if it disappears within a couple seconds it's hot enough for scrambled eggs.

hmm seems like legit advice to me

Start small. Cook your own meals. If it turns into shit? Try again.
God knows how many times I forgot to rinse the potato starch away.
