What makes a michelin star restaruant a michelin star restauraunt? How does the food differ from your standard restaurant, like what can they possibly do to it to make it taste so good.

They bought a failing tire manufacturer in 1927 and things kind of took off from there

There are many examples of this sort of thing throughout history. Look at Sanyo, they are known best for their high end menswear, and cell phones

As a tire company they offered a guide for restaurants to the people who own a car as a gift .. around 100 years ago.. Then the guide was so popular that they start to sell it, most of the testers are former chefs ...

Attention to detail.

I've been in a few michelin restaurants and what makes them stand above the others is taking the extra steps in order to improve the dish.

Like a normal good restaurant is 80% good but a michelin starred restaurant takes the longer way of making it 100%.
