With corn planting season over here in Iowa, I am enjoying some store bought corn on the cob. But it got me thinking. Why don't we see other things "on the cob"?
I legitimately think corn tastes better on the cob so why dont they do it for other things?
Because if you called it apple on the core or broccoli from the ground you'd be rightly institutionalised.

They do. Meat on the bone, crab/lobster/shrimp cooked in the shell, etc.
