Why do so many people fall for the smooth top range meme? They're so shitty. they're fragile, they don't work with certain materials, if the pot or pan is too big the thing could fucking melt, literally the only advantage is easy cleaning.
induction only cookers suck
They're decorations for people who really don't cook much/well. Lots of boomers who eat tv dinners have them. Or wealthy people who go to restaurants nearly every day
I had to get an induction because my apartment doesn't have a gas line (some weird building codes). :-(
I still like gas better but induction is much better than contact electric. Also it's a Wolf cooktop, I'm not sure how good that brand is but I know it must have been expensive

My idiot mother got a smooth glass top electric range because of purely aesthetic reasons and it fucking blows. Takes 7 minutes to boil 2 cups of water, not even joking. 10 years later the top is ugly and discolored but who cares because it's easy to wipe off amirite?
Electric is bad. Induction is good though, would never go back to gas now

cant use it during a blackout

>they're fragile
we had a smooth top range growing up and i dropped dozens of pans on that thing
maybe you just had a shitty one

I have had one for 8 years and have never had any of those problems

They eat at or see video of a decent restaurant and confuse shitty low-end appliances with professional equipment.
