What's up with soylent?
How can one subsist on a liquid for months at a time?
Maybe I'm missing something here but, don't you need some solids in a diet to feel satiated? Even a (good) soup has chunks of vegetables or meat in it.
I only ask becasue my brother starting drinking liquid breakfasts as he doesn't have time to prepare anything. Apparently it works. How!?
Humans are pretty good at adapting to whatever is available. Anecdotally I find it a lot easier to shut down my cravings with the knowledge that I know I have had enough calories to not be starving.
Also if you look up diy soylent it is basically an oat smoothie with some protein powder, a multivitamin and some flavoring. If you think about eating oats with a protein shake in the morning you would think that is a decent meal.

Not so much that your BODY needs solids, but your MIND craves the texture of food. Same way that some people don't crave soda/pop, they crave the carbonation.
Many people don't quit soylent because of taste/boredom, but because they felt extremely isolated because we live in a culture that (usually) connects around food.
It's basically a porridge but with more water in it. There's tons of fiber in it to give your stomach something to work on. It's also meant to be had with a fuckload of water so you've got something in there.

"Your brother" needs to seriously rethink his priorities in life.

The thing you're missing is called autism.
The creator was one of those weird nerds who hates food and consumes it only because he'd die otherwise.

I have the Dutch version Joylent, its breddy handy
Just for when I am too lazy for cookin, or for breakfast sometimes
Its actually pretty filling, its like a thick smooth oatmeal milkshake
Probably would get sick of it fast when eating it full time tho

Maybe his brother isn't a NEET? Just a thought
