Post and rate local food
Pic related, it's hutspot, a dish of mashed potatoes and carrots from Holland.
Looks like puke

It doesn't look that appealing but it probably tastes good. I live in the US Midwest so we don't really have any sort of cuisine like the coasts and south do. Most food here is German/Austrian influenced (a lot of sauerkraut etc). Pic related. It's basically a wienerschnitzel burger.

That looks like it will give anyone in a radius of 1000 feet around it a myocardial infarction

That's an extreme example but yeah--it isn't exactly healthy. It tastes good but the food sucks here in the Midwest outside of places like Chicago.

>ood sucks here in the Midwest outside of places like Chicago.
not really, you should say "major metropolitan areas" in the future

I live in Indiana and that's the closest big city with any decent food. Indianapolis doesn't really count even though you can find some decent chow spots if you look hard enough.

>indy doesn't count
>implying you have to look hard
Nigger please.

You do if you're a poorfag.

Indy is a great city for poorfag eating imo. Steak and Lemonade on College is great for that, and probably the best burger in town is ~$5 at Red Key Tavern.

My biggest complaint about the Midwest is that we don't really have any unique food like, for example, Louisiana and Texas does. Indiana has the pork tenderloin sandwich and that's basically it. Chicago at least has shit like Italian beef and Chicago style pizza even if it's overrated.

I know it isn't totally unique to Indiana, but good German cuisine is probably the closest we have. The Rathskeller is tasty, and then there's the delicatessen kinda near Garfield Park (I'm forgetting the name at the moment) that is really good.

I have family in Louisiana and I can't seem to find pic related anywhere else. Gumbo and Jambalaya caught on with the rest of the country, though.

do americans really eat this????
>>9020569
It looks interesting. I'm sure I'd eat it, dunno how often. Are the carrots still a little firm or mush? Seasoning?
Mazamorra morada, a peruvian dessert made from purple corn and fruits, taste better in winter
