There are some legitimate uses, but also reasons to dislike it. It has a lot of sugar in it, so you can't use much or you've turned a meal into a dessert, which is kind of gross. Also it's associated with kids who don't like spicy/tangy mustard, I suppose. But mainly a lot of people try to develop and expand their tastes, and they go a bit too far in hating things that they think make them seem uncultured.

Because those ingredients are not in moderation within ketchup. Ketchup is so sweet it might as well be a syrup, you can barely taste the tomato. Most of the time it doesn't make food better, hence why children dowse food in it to mask flavours they don't like. Also what I did as a kid
