Made some salmon and rice for me and my sister.
For the salmon I put:
Olive oil, soy sauce, salt, pepper, lemon juice, garlic and onion powder, paprika and Italian seasoning
For the jasmine rice I just used a rice cooker, washed it once, added black beans and used same stuff as salmon besides the olive oil and lemon... Added turmeric though.
Any suggestions to change up the taste of the rice and beans?

I think the beans would benefit from being cooked separately, and then poured on top of the rice. Just google a bean recipe that looks like it'd taste good and go from there. Maybe try some red beans and rice, and instead of your current salmon seasoning try something like old bay. That'd match well.
For a different taste on the salmon, maybe try a quick asian-themed marinade. Sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, fresh ginger and garlic, and maybe a little chili sauce if you want some heat. I don't think it'd go well with beans, but that'd be a yummy treat paired with white rice and some steamed or roasted veggies.

Thai chiles.

Old bay sounds good, I'll try that thanks
Can I use the rice cooker for the salmon or chicken thighs?
Normally just season and put in a pan in the oven

Not unless you want them boiled, and why would you?
