Alright can someone help me understand smoothie making, i'm pretty much down right retarded when it comes to making anything and there is a lot thing's I don't understand.
First off when making a smoothie why do people add ice? I get that it chills the drink but at the same time doesn't it just water down the flavor?
Also what's the difference between using ice cream, milk, or some sort of yogurt? Is there a distinct difference in a smoothie between using any of these? Should I just use all 3?
On top of that i'm just trying to make a strawberry, banana, and blueberry smoothie but is there anything else I should add? Should I just make a different flavor all together?
I don't think smoothies/milkshakes/whatever the fuck these are should be this complicated but my autistic ass is making it.

Viscosity.

????
The difference is that your smoothie then has ice cream, milk, or yogurt in it.

By difference I guess I mean is there a drastic flavor change? Would one cause it to taste better than the other?

Have you never tasted icecream, milk, or yogurt?

I don't know how simple fruit and dairy mixing works man. I just don't know.

This isn't alchemy

It feels like it, i'm just going to try ice cream. How much ice cream is usually in one of these things?

Ice isn't necessary for a smoothie. Just buy bags of frozen fruit or freeze the fruit yourself.
Ice cream makes a milkshake, not smoothie. Delicious but not really the same thing. I usually use both yogurt and milk when making a smoothie, yogurt adds body and flavor, milk helps thin it a bit. I recommend buying a bag of frozen mango chunks, mango is delicious in smoothies - strawberry, banana, and mango is my favorite combination.

for lunch I just drank pic related, it had starwberry banana blueberry as well as some peach.
In terms of dairy I never put milk in mine but I often put in ice cream or yogurt or both.
I don't add ice to mine, lots of frozen strawberries and blueberries make it nice and cold.
I think you just need to not sweat it. Throw in whatever you feel like throwing in, there is a 96% chance it will turn out fine.

Thank's guys, I guess I was more so freaking out over wasting ingredients than anything else, I think what i'm going for seems to be more milkshake than smoothie though.
Gonna try to add some strawberry and vanilla ice cream to the mix and see what happens, also thinking of pouring one of these into the mix to see how it turns out.

>yogurt
>a splash of milk
>put in a blender and mix
