Depends on what you're into.
Into sushi? Japango is legit the 2nd best sushi place I've ever been to. It's really small, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Spicy thai? Salad King is perfect, but the higher the chili level, the more unforgiving the asshole pain the next day.

If Italian's more your thing, then Scaddabush fantastic.

I live wayyyy too far for downtown T.O., but fuck, if I lived there I'd splurge my dough every week.

Ex-Torontonian here.

- Sneaky Dee's on College St for cheap beer and great pub food (nachos and fajitas)
-Gandhi on Queen St for a big ass spicy roti
- Hong Shing on Dundas St for greasy chinese (spicy ginger beef was my fav alongside shanghai noodles)
- Doner Kebab House on Yonge St. for the chicken platter
- Hosu on Queen St. for cheap bulgogi combo take outs

I would also recommend Salad King. Go dine in, it's an experience. I miss their golden chicken/tofu thai curry and orange chicken.

Salad King is crap. If your by the airport OP go to China Garden by Airport Road, some of the best Hakka Chinese food in Toronto. Their pad Thai is literally crack tier addicting. Try the Manchurian and ginger chicken as well.
