It's a not a bad lager, really

Sapporo tastes like sweet gasoline so maybe if the raw fish is really disgusting it works

Asahi is a bit better... Both are pretty good though. Kind of tastes like an IPA, but it doesn't leave you feeling bloated as shit.

I tried Sapporo because it had a cool can and it just tasted like nothing, barely any discernible beer taste. Something about it was just kind of "not right", and this comes from someone who enjoys pretty much all lager

Sapporo is the Japanese equivalent of Miller Light or other such low tier beer. It's easily accessible, cheap, but not actually good.

Plus anyways, with sushi, you should have either sake or shochu.
