Drinking in a group is very different to drinking alone, maybe give it a go and see if you like it or not? The phase of getting nicely buzzed with your friends and chatting shit is great fun. Careful you don't overdo it though

If I smoke weed while alone, I don't like it at all. With friends, however, I really enjoy it.

A good metric for whether you should give up drinking is the following question: When you drink do you become a different person who does things you feel bad about later? If the answer is yes then you're probably someone who shouldn't drink.
