I personally would recommend a nice scotch like Laphroaig. It should be between $30 to $50 depending on your state's taxes. If your spending limit is up to $100-$150, look for Edradour SFTC Sassicaea.

Jack Daniels is awful, BTW. If you really want to try it, get a miniature for a couple of bucks, or buy a shot at a bar. It's basically a fast route to oblivion for hardcore alcoholics; there's no subtlety or real flavor to it, just burning from the alcohol.

Why else would someone drink craft beer? For the same price as a six-pack of Stone or Ballast Point I could get an entire case of Genny Cream. It's pretty obvious that taste is craft beer's best selling point, not its value or the quickness of getting drunk while drinking it.

Dark Rum//Whisky if you want something to mix with cola.
Vodka/Gin/White Rum if you prefer juice. Tom Collins is a personal favorite of mine. It's gin, lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water.

Dunno what state you're in, so pricing may vary, but I wouldn't spend much more than $20 on a fifth. Expensive alcohol can be nicer, but unless you want to drink it straight it'll be real difficult to tell the difference. This should be fairly obvious, but avoid anything that comes in a plastic jug, it's not worth it no matter how cheap.
