/ck/ I really need your help. I need advice on how to make good meals while in collage but it's difficult because they are complete fucking nazis on what can and can't be cooked in the dorm kitches.
The kitchen doesn't allow:
Roasting
Pan Frying
Deep Frying
You're not even allowed to cook fucking eggs. Sure I can boil water but I want more variety than just pasta and ramen.
You can cook hard boiled or poached eggs, you know...
Anyways, salads- veggie, fruit, pasta- you get the idea. Soup. Sandwiches. Smoothies. Meat/cheese/fruit platter... I really don't see what's so confining here...

PS- If you can use a crockpot you can make a ton of things. Even a rice cooker can make a lot of things. Just look up crockpot or rice cooker recipes... I've seen some very detailed microwave cooking recipes too. Pickled eggs are good too.

>The kitchen doesn't allow:
>Roasting
Replace with baking
>Pan Frying
Replace with sauteing
>Deep Frying
Don't do this one

They don't allow sauteing either, things that are cooked with oil, butter, etc are off limits too.

Just post the actual rules
Can you use a toaster oven? A good toaster oven can do some really great stuff. Once I cut a small chicken in half and roasted it with veggies in a cuisinart toaster oven(did have to reduce the temperature by 50 degress and cook for longer, but it came out great).

Don't expect to get too much cooking done in the dorm kitchen if it's as crowded as mine was
See some of the above posts and consider what you can safely keep in your room without an RA bitching, like a crockpot, rice cooker, toaster, toaster oven, microwave, etc
Investing in a minifridge for your room is also a great idea if you don't already have one

If you've made it this far, you're in for a long ride.

Buy a cheap electric single burner unit and cook inside your dorm. Don't be retarded, collage studdent.

Fuck the stupid rules. You're a grown man, cook whatever the fuck you want. What are they gonna do, expel you for making scrambled eggs?
Just don't be stupid and not clean up your damned mess.
These rules sound like they were constructed due to people being lazyfucks.

underrated post
>>8842018
Christ OP what's the point even giving you a kitchen at that rate
>>8842263
This
How would they even know unless you leave a great big mess after
>>8842250
well actually yes

The thing that an RA will give you shit about is an open heating element. I guarantee they're nazis because some idiots almost burnt the building down. Something like a crock pot or a rice cooker can't set your room on fire unless you're an idiot or an arsonist, so you should be able to keep those in your room as long as your housing contract doesn't specifically forbid it.
