yep, refill untill you lose flavour (usually about 10 refills). if you did the slope thing you can also reform the slope on the other side, that should give you some bonus refills
if you're drinking alone it's better to pick a small cup since you'll be drinking at least several of them

You do the slope thing in order to keep half the yerba dry for as long as possible, as you refill you should gradually work towards the other end with the water. Doing it the lazy way is just, well, lazy, any picture you see on the internet where the entirety of the Yerba is wet is the wrong way to make mate, imo. See this pic >>8816091. it does lose it's flavour faster but that's not necessarily a bad thing. when I'm having my morning yerba 10 refills is more than enough, 15 would take too much time and it's not like that's wasting the yerba, it's just slightly stronger and there's slightly less refills
