Eggs send blood cholesterol into the stratosphere. I see you've taken the egg pill.

Those fraud studies measure fasting blood cholesterol. Which of course will have low cholesterol. Eat an egg or 2 or three, and you're doing serious harm to you arteries for several hours while they're digesting and keeping your blood cholesterol elevated.

>It looks like butter may, in fact, be back. The creamy condiment is a “middle-of-the-road” food, nutritionally speaking—better than sugar, worse than olive oil—according to a new report, which adds to a growing body of research showing that the low-fat-diet trend was misguided. The new study analyzed nine papers that included more than 600,000 people and concluded that consuming butter is not linked to a higher risk for heart disease and might be slightly protective against type 2 diabetes. This goes against the longstanding advice to avoid butter because it contains saturated fat.

>To be clear, the new study doesn’t say butter is a health food, rather that “it doesn’t seem to be hugely harmful or beneficial

9000 years is not a 'short' amount of time. In fact, it took less than 7500 for us to start evolving to be able to consume more milk due to its benefits. Lactose Intolerance is actually the vestigial norm of our descendants.
>>
>>8802381
9000 years is not enough time for any significant evolutionary change or adaptation.
>>
>>8802415
*ancestors
>>
>>8802415
Lactose tolerance is a single gene and we are already mammals. our entire physiology and metabolism is build on thousands of variables build over millions of years before we were even humans. To change in such a drastic way as to rely on new food sources entirely is a way way way bigger evolutionary step requiring hundreds of thousands of years if you'r lucky.

This isnt 9000 years, and doesnt have to do with food, but 10 generations is significant enough.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jFGNQScRNY
>>
>>8802438
Right that we adapted to milk in 7500 years
Wrong that adapting to grain is in any way comparable (if lactose tolerance during human civilization is like a royal flush, then perfectly adjusting to grains instead of a hunter gathering diet within 9000 years is like getting five billion royal flushes in a row)

>it's not good for you.
it comes out of something's ass, what did you expect, yogurt?
>>
>>8802449
yeah, not sure how I could explain this to you properly. Not all evolution is equal. Some things are "core" features. like our metabolism. it's build on genes upon genes upon genes. while most of what those mutations in the foxes are just a single new dominant gene with a seemingly stark effect.
>>
>>8802473
I dont expect humans to just walk up to some grass and start eating it. Grains are highly processed right? In addition to this the grain was put through many selections and cross breeding. On top of this, the grain is ground, baked, and other things are added when cooking. The grain is similar to a starch after processing and turns into glucose when eaten. Its not exactly something that humans have adapted to, but pretty close and the rest is made up for in artificial input. Also bread is rarely eaten alone, there is meat or something else involved.
>>
>>8802486
glucose is fine, but the byproducts? not really. I'm not saying grain is terrible, it's another reason we'll never really truly adapt to eating it, there's only a minor evolutionary pressure that usually manifests after we're done breeding.
I'm just saying that it's fucking absurd to say we have adapted since we've been eating it for 9000 years. We're talking about such an advanced process that it'd be like saying you evolved a fully funtional limb with joints and advanced neural efficiency in 9000 years.

But this is the point of processed grains right? All the stuff that the body isnt adapted for is stripped away by processing, and the result is essentially a starch that is quickly digested by the body. Its like a step more difficult than eating sugar.

I completely agree with you. My post was a bit too affirmative to be taken at face value on 4chan. But really, eggs are gross. They come out of a bird's cloaca. Their potential lethality to anyone overweight or with unknown genetically high cholesterol should not be taken lightly. You're right about people going to doctors, as well. I personally have never seen someone under 40 who wasn't seriously injured have a routine medical checkup. It's just too risky to eat eggs. At the very least, there should be government-mandated warning labels on egg cartons.
>>
>>8803866

There should be government-mandated warning labels on your posts you fucking retard.

So I shouldn't eat eggs because there is a temporary spike in my cholesterol that damages my arteries for a few hours? What's an alternative source of high quality protein that isn't so calorie dense and won't spike my blood sugar?
>>
>>8805272
>carbphobia

Ticks all the boxes
>>
>>8805272
There is no spike in your cholesterol.

The cholesterol in your body does not come from your food, rather it is made by your liver. The cholesterol you eat simply gets pooped out.

>>What's an alternative source of high quality protein that isn't so calorie dense and won't spike my blood sugar?

Whey protein isolate. (not to be confused with concentrate)
>>
>>8805350
Sugar has RUINED modern human civilization don't you realize?!
>>
>>8805350
I eat carbohydrates, anon. I eat plain sweet potatoes, carrots, turnips, and other root vegetables. I eat buckwheat, corn, and rye as well.
I don't have a high calorie diet so protein quality is important to me otherwise I will not get enough protein. If my doctor is lying to me about eggs than I would like to know what I can eat instead.
>>
>>8805377
Then why are you concerned about "spiking" your blood sugar?

And eggs aren't a good source of protein. Eggs are 66% calories from fat. They actually contain less protein by calorie than tofu.

>>8805362
This is false.
>>
>>8801538
fuck off cunt eggs are fantastic
>>
>>8805404
>Then why are you concerned about "spiking" your blood sugar?
A lot of people tell me to eat beans and rice since they are cheap and are a complete protein. Eggs are my main source of fat. I need some fat in my diet. I don't eat oils and nuts are too expensive. Tofu contains too many phytoestrogens.
>>
>>8805505
Beans and lentils are great for protein. So you already know what to eat anyway, why did you ask?

For fats you could also try various seeds, they tend to be cheaper than nuts, at least where I live. You have to consider that nuts and seeds contain no water, so the price per calorie ends up not being that high. Try calculating the price per 1000 calories for almonds in your area and see if it still seems expensive. It's probably less than what you pay for the fat in eggs
>>
>>8805528
Beans and lentils spike my blood sugar so I don't want to eat them. Eggs are much cheaper than almonds. Seeds are pretty expensive as well.
>>
>>8805560
Have you calculated the cost per 1000 calories? Because it doesn't look like you have.

You just said you eat sweet potatoes, buckwheat, corn and rye. These things contain starch that is broken down into sugar which then enters you blood.
You make no sense at all.
>>
>>8805571
I don't eat very much of them (also it's not a good idea to eat much buckwheat for other reasons), but if I were to replace the eggs with beans, lentils, and rice, then I would have a problem.

I spent a few weeks at a research centre in nothern Canada earlier this year, one of the requirements for signing up for the program I was attending was that you needed to be able to sustain a high calorie diet.

In the cold your body uses more energy to keep warm, so it's important to eat as much as you can to stay fueled. There were only a couple days where we didn't have scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet. The rest of the food served was better than expected.
