anyone have good recipes for frozen pink salmon like pic related? it's cheap and good for you but imo too fishy to just grill, which is what I do with other salmon species

Get a good brand then. One that IQF's closer to the catch. I've not had any problems with thawing them on a rack in the refrigerator out of the vacuum pack.

I dunno, I've had fresh pinks from the farmer's market before (I live in the pacific northwest) and I thought those were too fishy too, in addition to being like 3x as expensive as the frozen ones lol

You're getting ripped-off or bait-and-switched. I go fishing for Chinook/steelhead salmon most years in Oregon, and the ones we pull up are invariably fresh enough to eat raw with no preservation whatsoever for upwards of a day.
Frozen salmon is really only good for fish pie.
Fish pie is pretty good though.

Frozen salmon taste like shit if it's been frozen for too long. It will start to taste like fish oil. This is the case for other fatty fish as well like mackerel.
