Aren't burgers one of the most nutritionally balanced foods? Why do they get such a bad rep?

I'd assume because how greasy some burgers can be. There's also the super size me documentary.

Fast food burgers tend to be too greasy and salty to be really healthy, and their buns are processed bleached flour shit. Also they're almost always served with deep fried carbs for sides and syrupy soda for a drink. But I can see your point. Perhaps a grilled burger with minimal salt, salad for a side, and a glass of iced tea could be a nutritious meal.

Well, I'd say there's a difference between a fast food fatbomb and a homemade burger with grease drained, say in a geofo grill, with fresh tomato, non-iceberg lettuce, and a whole west bun.
>whole wheat bun
>no cheese
>fresh tomatoes and lettuce
>onions
>80-90% lean beef patties cooked on grill
Burgers are god tier

Forgot the best part, papi
Has anyone ever ate a burger from shake shack in NYC. Friend says they have the best burgers.

Your friend is a cuck

that sounds fine but ground beef is still bottom-tier compared to lean steaks and chops
whole cuts > less processed > more processed > mystery meat

Shit the fuck off.
Ruined a nice got damn thread with your fruity hellsauce.

Proportionately speaking, too much bread and too much meat.
All things considered though a good burger made with proper ingredients really isn't any worse for you than a "proper" meal.

They're pretty good, but standing for 30 fucking minutes in a queue is not worth it

Salt isn't unhealthy though (barring any specific medical conditions)

There's always cubed or chopped steak sandwiches. And you could conceivably grind your own meats anyway.
I vote for mayo, because I'm white.

There's usually a lot of calories in a burger. Burger patties are usually made with 80% lean ground beef, so there's a good deal of fat. A bun is plenty of calories on it's own, and a slice of cheese is as well. Then you get people throwing mayo and other sauces on there. Also, eating lots of red meat can slightly increase your risk for certain cancers.

this
low sodium is just a meme because people dont realise that anything in high dosages can be bad for you
potassium can lead to cardiac arrest, better cut bananas out of my diet!

It's also a meme because many peoples' diets consist of fast food and frozen garbage, which are quite high in sodium; and those people also tend to be obese with high blood pressure, therefore the need to reduce their sodium intake.
