I recently got a job working pretty much in da hood in STL. For those who don't know, Saint Louis is the Detroit of Missouri.
Any good places to eat in da hood? Any good places to eat in STL in general you can recommend? I pass by a lot of hood-looking restaurants but I never tried them out of fear of getting shot, but today I saw a white family walk out of one looking no worse for the wear so I guess it's time for me to give it a go.

There's a great little neighborhood called Ferguson you should check out.
Ask some of the locals where the best fried chicken and watermelon is at.

The only good place I know of in STL is the Old Spaghetti Factory which I don't really think is in the hood and it definitely isn't STL-specific but it is really good.

Lion's Choice, which is conveniently only located in the hood. It's like Arby's, but how Arby's originally was, which means real rare roast beef made fresh and sliced thin each day and real jus from the drippings, and horseradish sauce with actual horseradish in it.
