Let's talk about pulses, legumes - beans, lentils, peas.
What are your favorite legume-based dishes, and what's your favorite legume?
yo we lentil soup in here?
I love azuki bean sweets. My favorite is mizu yokan - it's so beautiful to look at, besides being delicious.
For savory dishes, my very favorite is dal makhani. It's soulwarming, I like to have it when I feel low. The black grams in those require soaking, though. Second favorite is misir wot, which is almost as tasty and can be cooked much faster!

I'm not sure if I would call this my favorite, but pan-fried garbanzo with Chipotle and salt is nice.
Red lentil, kidney beans, garbanzo beans

I'm fucking allergic to lentils...they taste good though.

If I don't have a problem with my own I don't know what I would like to do with my own life or something I don't like that I keep getting my hopes up for. How can you tell if you're not a guy who has been on the same way as a good guy? The restaurant is a little too expensive for me and my mom is going to order the lentil soup next time she goes.
Dark red kidney beans are my favorite. When i'm low on cash i like to mix those with some rice and some rotel tomatoes and green chilis. It's not bad

Pulses are a significant part of my diet. Way too many dishes to list on a thread like this. But I'll tale a quick look at the pantry and tell you at any given moment I have at least:
4 kinds of lentils
blackeye peas
cannellini beans
toor dal
black beans
2 kinds of fava beans
2 kinds of chickpeas
red kidney beans
mung dal
toor dal
yellow split peas
All good stuff.

I often make chana masala (chickpea curry) with sweet potato and kale. It's pretty good.
I also like fried kidney beans in fajitas.

I cannot overstate the value of pulse pastes in my life. Started with hummous, and now most snacks consist of a spiced pulse paste on something like rye, sourdough, or pitta. Tastiest, most affordable way to get healthy. Some favourites are
Red lentil, marmite, and garlic
Hummous with coriander and scotch bonnet
Black beans with soy and ginger
