I love Sonoran Dogs.

Place by my work have cheese filled, bacon wrapped peppers that go with them. Great lunch.

Going to school at University of Arizona, everybody hypes up Sonora Dogs and Eegees. They're really overrated. I'd rather have a Chicago Dog.

Cafe Poca Cosa - pricey, but top notch Mexican food from multiple regions rather than just Sonora

Guero Canelo, El Charro, Mi Nidito - Arizonamex classics. At El Charro or Mi Nidito, get the carne seca chimichangas

Serial Grillers - best pizza I've tried in town

Anita Street Market - tacos, burritos, tortillas, etc.

Zayna Mediterranean - mediterranean/middle eastern food

Jun Dynasty or Dragon's View - both are really good Chinese, a Chinese colleague visiting town told us that Dragon's View is actually authentic (get the water boiled fish)

Ricuras de Venezuela - Venezuelan food truck, really authentic and one of my favorite places to eat in the whole city

Brushfire BBQ - pretty good barbecue and ice cream, I like the messy fries better than US fries

Lindy's on 4th - best burgers in town

Arizona Beer House - really good beer selection and they have a different food truck serving food almost every day

For groceries, go to El Super in South Tucson or if you're willing to go for a drive, Lee Lee for a really huge Asian market. There's also a good Middle Eastern market called Babylon Market on Speedway a few minutes east of the University.

There's tons more. Tucson has a surprisingly large number of good restaurants for a place this size.
