Just kidding. I make quick pickled okra all the time. It obviously doesn't have that sour lacto flavor but it tastes very nice.

I quick pickle Zucchini in a similar way, but way less sugar and garlic and red chile instead of cloves. Great way to use extra fresh vegetables before they go bad.
