Dear Anons, I could perhaps see how you might find the taste of steak boring, but if you have even a passing appreciation for the sensation of flavor, you should understand that steak cooked past a certain point is objectively worse than rarer steaks.

Overcooking causes a decrease in flavor and a tougher texture. Sure, if you don't like the taste of beef you could claim that rare steak is a meme, but when you compare steak to steak it is obvious that once steak loses it's red coloration, it becomes worse for the palette. That's not an opinion, that's objective fact. To argue otherwise is to argue that blandness and extra chewing are somehow more valuable than flavor and tenderness. I admit that it's possible for someone to legitimately hold that opinion, but if so they are contrary to the vast majority of humanity.

tl;dr: Compare steak to steak and you MUST find that the rarer styles are superior to the well-done styles.
