For a uni-tasker, it sure is a good one.
No more need to peel garlic, no more garlicky fingers.
Buy a good knife early, learn to keep it sharp, dont dishwash anything sharp

ah these things are so nice.
here's my advice -- find a restaurant store near you and use that to buy equipment. much cheaper than most places and you'll get high quality and easy to clean stuff (look for the NSF logo for ease of cleaning).
most places give discounts to "member" restaurants so either think of a restaurant that's a member and lie or ask a restaurant near you if you can use their discount.
you pay out of pocket so unless you're gonna try to scam the store in a restaurant's name then it shouldn't bother them.

EAT FOOD
NOT TOO MUCH
MOSTLY PLANTS
The best way to build a meal plan is list the foods you enjoy by themselves, then see what meals can be made out of them together. This way you're more likely to enjoy your meals, save money and always have food you like at hand anyway if you don't feel like making something fancy.
