Persian food rocks. It's by far the best middle eastern cuisine. I'd never had it till I moved to the west coast, but since then I've learn to cook a bunch of my favorite persian dishes, because fuck yeah, that's why. My all time favorite is still Zereshk Polow Morgh, though. I make regularly.

Iranian friends cooked for me once and it was amazing, some kind of lamb piece in the oven with fukloads of herbs, leaves and quite fatty. The only weird/surprising thing was that they cooked whole lemons in the oven with the meat which they ate with the skin, which is very bitter. I ate this too to be polite, wasnt so bad but weird to eat something that bitter.
