Holy shit did you know you can spice rice before you chuck it in the ricemaker???
I just put lemon juice and pepper on rice then cooked it. Its AMAZING????
So my questions are:
-what are your favorite ways to spice rice?
-what else do you like to spice before you boil it?
>side question: can potatoes go in a rice cooker?
If I have leftover broth or stock I'll throw it into the rice cooker and make up the difference in water.

You can cook cakes in a rice cooker
rice cookers are life
Curry powder, garlic powder, cayenne, paprika
I don't like to cook it in the ricemaker because you're going to lose a lot of the aromatic qualities. spice it up as soon as it's done cooking and let it steam the spices in a closed container.

>can potatoes go in a rice cooker?
Sure. Cut some up and lay them on top of the rice.

I like to add a mix or one of the following: saffron, star anise, bayleaf, allspice, saffron, turmeric (for the colour), butter (not sure if you can add it to a rice cooker; don't have one).
Also, good quality basmati and jasmine rice is god tier, even on its own.
I add tumeric, fennel seeds, fenungreek seeds, cumin seeds, staranese, cardamon pods, salt, pepper.
Gonna add some stock like anon said above, sounds good.
