I think as of late we've been overposting Steve1989 from MREInfo. I really don't want people to get tired of him because he's memed. So if everyone could agree to stop posting him every day, that'd be really
>Nice!
>>8402904
this.
you could have had a good thread about MREs but you had to use some stupid shit meme to start your thread.
>>8402876
I've never seen this before but his genuine enthusiasm is enjoyable
>>8402876
holy shit the asmr I got from his videos are incredible, I feel liek i could listen to him talk and review food forever
>>8403026
Same, I don't really give one tenth of a damn about ASMR videos but something about old ass MREs and a winning personality gets me.
Also anytime he points the camera at himself when he's smoking a stogie from WW2 to Nam, it's maximum relaxation.
>>8402919
He's not really that memeable, other than "Let's get this out onto a tray; Nice!" and "Nice hiss." Those really strike me more as catch phrases, I just like seeing MREs from all sorts of decades. My favorites have to be the WW2 life raft survival rations, that basically gave you Life Savers candies to live off of, one of them had some sort of meth-like stimulant in them.

OP is a faggot but the topic of the thread is also retarded
>>8404448
lol its like he thinks there may never be a point in his life where he has to eat survival food
>>8404462
>lol like he thinks if it reaches that point MRE's will be widely available.
Yeah, you'll be able to order them off amazon with your iphone, topkek idiota.

Not if you prep first you goober.

>what is worth discussing about MREs
It's sort of a living history thing, opening and eating food that men did in Vietnam, Korea, WWII. He even had an episode with a Civil War era piece of hardtack. Gives an appreciation for what life was like way back.
There's also a cultural appreciation -seeing what Norwegians base their menus on, that Italians include an alcoholic cordial for breakfasts, snacks and pates from Eastern Europe, etc
Also touches on food science. Different preservation means, pros and cons thereof, calorie/fat/protein balance depending on use (emergency v. daily ration, tropical v. Arctic, etc)
It's a pretty interesting analysis of this all by a guy that has a real passion for it, you fucking faggot
