When you go grocery shopping do you make a list and follow it closely, or just get whatever is on sale/in season? I dont really plan my trips at all and kind of just get whatever the fuck.
Also, why whenever you google pictures of "grocery shopping" do you get a bunch of pictures of people getting vegetables or with carts full of only vegetables? Everyone knows you get the meat first and then put the vegetables ontop so they dont get squished

imho all i do while away from dog is pray for it's safety
Both? I make a meal plan for the week based on what I already have so that I'm not wasting perishable ingredients, figure out what I'll need to get, and don't deviate very much. That said, I also have a pretty good idea what's going to be in available and in season with very few exceptions (I don't know EXACTLY when fiddleheads or ramps will be there, but most other things I can tell based if nothing else on what things looked like last week). That said, if there's an unexpected sale on something I'll get it if it's something that'll keep (rutabagas, pork roast) or is too good to pass up and worth rearranging the meal plan for.

You get the meat last so it stays cooler longer

All of the groceries stores i've been to encourage you to go counter clockwise and it starts in the produce section
I make a list going by my diet and what's in season. It just provides a rough guide though.
