Are sizzle platters worth all the hype? Not that they're

Having worked in multiple restaurants I fucking love sizzle platters. They're on-the-line multi-taskers x10, that can be used literally anywhere other than the deep fryer.

I thought they were usually cast iron, not aluminum..

They come in a few different metals. The aluminum ones are more for utility cooking, where the cast iron are for serving at the table.

I prefer mine in pewter with a high antimony content.
