If you guys hate Ketchup so much then how do you eat your sardines on toast?
For some reason the fishiness is really complimented by the slightly sweet/tangy and mild flavour of ketchup.
I normally just sprinkle some pepper, but a little mustard or Korean gochujang goes great with sardines.

Skip a step and get sardines or other fish packaged in tomato sauce
I've never eaten sardines or other tinned fish before, so I've always been curious. Do you just eat the bones? Wouldn't they hurt? I remember getting a fish bone stuck in my throat when I was a kid and it scared the shit out of me, so I've never tried sardines

In my experience sardine bones have been incredibly soft. I suppose there could be a hidden hard tiny bone there but I can't remember if this happened to me or not

Any bones that haven't been taken out with the guts will be so soft you won't even notice
Even the spine has zero hardness
Anyways, eat on crackers. A box is cheaper than bread and lasts longer

Even with tinned salmon, the huge vertebrae are really soft. If you were keeping them whole, you'd probably want to pull them out. But if you're mashing them up it's fine to just mash the bones as well.

Kekd even though I do this

I'd eat them the same way, on toast with mustard. Maybe some hard cheese.

Tomato ketchup was invented as a fish condiment. The more you know.
